Compliance Policy

    1. Introduction

CryptoMeet.in is a decentralized peer-to-peer (P2P) platform that facilitates the buying and selling of cryptocurrency through multiple payment methods, including cash-in-person. As a facilitator of these exchanges, we are committed to ensuring that all activity on our platform complies with Indian laws and global best practices concerning anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF), and user safety.

    2. Legal Disclaimer

CryptoMeet.in does not hold or custody cryptocurrency or fiat on behalf of users. All transactions are conducted directly between users. We are not a financial institution or a crypto exchange. We provide a matchmaking service for peer-to-peer exchanges.

    3. P2P Cash Transactions

CryptoMeet.in allows users to initiate cash-in-person P2P trades at mutually agreed locations. While this enables financial inclusion and accessibility, it also introduces regulatory and safety risks. Therefore, users must adhere to the following:

    • Meet only in public places during daylight hours, preferably monitored by CCTV.
    • Verify the counterpart's identity and trade history on CryptoMeet.in before meeting.
    • Carry only the amount of cash agreed upon in the trade offer. Avoid carrying excess money or valuables.
    • Use CryptoMeet's internal chat and dispute features to ensure transparency and documentation.
    • Any attempt to engage in unlawful or fraudulent activity will result in account suspension and may be reported to authorities.

    4. KYC/AML Compliance

While CryptoMeet.in does not custody funds, we follow risk-based principles under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. Users engaging in high-value or frequent trades may be required to:

    • Complete KYC verification using Aadhaar/PAN or passport.
    • Submit a selfie with valid ID and date stamp for enhanced due diligence.
    • Provide source-of-funds documentation if requested.

Failure to comply may result in account suspension or reporting to the Financial Intelligence Unit - India (FIU-IND).

    5. Reporting Suspicious Activity

Users are encouraged to report any suspicious or fraudulent behavior using our in-app reporting tools. Reports can also be sent to [email protected]. All reports are reviewed by our compliance team and, where necessary, escalated to relevant authorities.

    6. Regulatory Risk Disclosure

The regulatory framework for cryptocurrency in India is evolving. By using CryptoMeet.in, you acknowledge and accept that:

    • Cryptocurrency is not recognized as legal tender in India.
    • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued cautionary advisories regarding trading in virtual currencies.
    • Future regulations may affect your ability to use CryptoMeet.in or complete trades.

    7. User Responsibilities

Users of CryptoMeet.in must agree to the following:
